Our
NAME & LOGO
Maisha, a Swahili word, meaning ‘Life’, represents our passion to provide solutions for better livelihoods, living conditions & general wellbeing for all. We believe in the prosperity of the planet & a better world for all.
Our logo is two Siamese crocodiles displayed as a symbiotic relationship of sharing one stomach & believed to represent democracy & unity.

The
FOUNDER & CEO
Geralda has over 25 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility, ESG & social performance across mining, renewable energy, banking & the social sector. She has worked across Africa, Latin America, Asia, North America & Australia.
In mining, she has been a consultant to Anglo American, Debswana, Gold Fields, Ivanhoe Mines & South32 on a range of ESG topics. She held senior positions at Anglo American, Gold Fields, Absa/Barclays Group & Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. She is an independent director on the board of Caledonia Mining Corporation Plc, a listed gold mining company on the NYSE & London AIM. She chairs the ESG committee and is a member of the Corporate Governance & Strategy
committees.
Geralda is also a director of SAICA Enterprise Development & The Hope Factory.
She holds a masters’ Degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Town, an MBA from the Business School of the Netherlands & a post-graduate Certificate in Cross-sector Partnerships from Cambridge University. She was awarded as one of the 50 Power of Women in the 2021 Mail & Guardian competition, under the Category of the Mining Woman.
